Sexual Health and Body Image

Both cancer and it’s treatment can cause your body to change.

Your body may look different and/or you may feel that you look different due to some changes in the way that your body feels.  Some people struggle with these changes.  You will find on this page some resources that may help you with the changes in your body.

If you feel the need to talk to someone about those changes, contact our Psychosocial Oncology Program

or speak to your Health Care Team.

Look Good, Feel Better

Hair Loss

Cancer treatments can cause some temporary hair loss that may change the way you look and feel.  You may choose to wear a wig or cap if this makes you feel more comfortable.  The important thing is to be as comfortable as possible when dealing with your hair loss.

You may also want to attend a session of the Look Good… Feel Better.  It is a free workshop for women who are on cancer treatments, wanting to know more about facial skin care, makeovers and options for hair loss.  To register call 613-737-7700 ext. 10315 or visit http://lgfb.ca/en/
